Eliena
Name: Eliena
Age: 6 Months
Breed: Mustang
Adult Height: 15.1
Gender: Filly/Mare
Color: Black Sabino with Birdcatcher Spots and Gulastra Plume
Genetics: EE aa nSb
Personality:
Shy and naturally curious, Eliena (also called Eli, pronounced like Ellie) tends to keep to herself, her mother and her adoptive father. She has a heart of gold, but her shyness makes it difficult to make friends. She loves to wander through the fields, and is especially interested in butterflies (which is how she got her name). Despite hardship through the first few months of her life, she is a very happy filly, and is completely in love with her adoptive father. A “daddy’s girl” through and through, she will slowly come out of her shell as Raiden shows her the ropes and takes her exploring in her new home.
Background Story:
Born to Arwen, Eli’s father remains a mystery to her. Arwen, her mate, and the rest of the herd had been constantly pushed further and further from their homelands by humans. After years of being chased around, and never really having one spot to call home, the group had finally found a spot they thought they could settle down for a while. After a few months of peace and relaxation, Arwen, and most of the other mares, fell pregnant when they decided things were safe enough to expand the herd. Everything had been going blissfully for the group, until about a month before Arwen would be due to have her foal.
A stormy season had arrived, and this year the storms were particularly intense. The wind and rain was hard enough on the group, but the lighting was striking ground, and the ground current could potentially take out the entire herd if it got close enough. One terrible night, the lighting was getting closer and closer to the herds home, and they had to start moving again. One mare started laboring in the storm, and several others stayed near her to keep her safe. The rest of the herd kept moving. They had to. And then the lightning struck. The laboring mare and all the others who stayed back fell to the ground. Arwen had been in front of the others, and after hearing the crack of the lighting, she heard thuds of falling bodies. As she looked back, she saw her fallen herd mates, and then instantly everything went black.
Arwen awoke some time later, unsure of how long she had been out. She looked around in a panic for her herd, only to see her worst nightmare. All of her herd was gone, lost to the lightning. Unsure of the safety of the foal she carried, she felt a kick, and at least knew her foal was still alive. She took one last look at her lost herd mates, and walked off to begin her journey to survive.
Not long after the events of the storm, Arwen gave birth to a beautiful black filly, that shared her standout facial markings, and had her fathers black as night coat. They wandered through the lands of their home for months, unsure of where they were going, or what they were looking for. Eli had a tendency to frolic through flowers on their journeys, and played with the butterflies. This is how she got her name, which is a type of butterfly. One day, they saw another horse in the distance. He was an ornery, feisty stallion, with a roaned out coat. They approached him cautiously. At first, Raiden was pretty standoffish, and not extremely welcoming. But then he laid eyes on this little black filly, who had a butterfly sitting on her nose, and something inside him stirred. His heart melted. It was a feeling he didn’t understand, but he knew he had to protect this little filly.
Raiden and Arwen began to form a very intense bond, and he was completely in love with Eli. He taught her everything he could, and took her everywhere he could think of. The little group quickly became a family, and Eli had Raiden wrapped around her little hooves. They met other horses, and slowly but surely Eli, Arwen, and Raiden began to form their own small herd, as they journeyed through the lands and searched for the perfect spot to call home.
